Workshops, Sessions & Murals
here is a glimpse of my creative outreach work.
Juneteenth Mosaic Workshop
For Juneteenth, I had the honor of leading a community mosaic flag workshop in partnership with the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum.
This collaborative art experience brought together participants of all ages to create a vibrant mosaic that celebrates freedom, resilience, and African American heritage. Using color, texture, and symbolism, we worked together to design a powerful piece that reflects both individual expression and collective history.
The mosaic flag will be proudly displayed at the museum as a lasting tribute to unity, creativity, and the ongoing journey toward liberation.
Tree Mural
This minimalist mural features a single tree placed off to the side, offering a quiet, natural accent without overwhelming the space. With soft grass at its base and gentle lines, the design brings balance and calm—perfect for clean, modern layouts or serene backgrounds.
Nature’s Lookalikes: Young Artist’s Workshop
As part of a mini workshop I hosted at a location library, inspired by the Nature’s Lookalikes series, a group of young artists along side the youth services librarian explored the art of collage by creating their own animal portraits. Each student learned how to paint, cut, and assemble their artwork by hand, experimenting with color, pattern, and texture to bring the animals to life.
I’m proud to present their finished pieces alongside the Nature’s Lookalikes series in this exhibition—an intergenerational dialogue between emerging artists and the world around them.
Art Sessions
Students explored a wide range of fun, hands-on projects that combine traditional materials with elements from nature. Students use oil pastels to create bold, colorful ocean scenes, blending waves and sea life with vibrant detail. We bring in real seashells to add texture and dimension—gluing them into beachscapes or using them to stamp unique patterns.
For our tree projects, we get creative with handprints pastels, turning simple shapes into expressive, personal works of art. Each project invites kids to experiment with color, texture, and natural materials, building confidence and creativity along the way.
