Indian Ann's Descendants
The Portraits & the archival photo book with historical family photos and genealogy displayed at my thesis exhibition, dedicated to my great-grandmothers, Ann Ashatama (Indian Ann), Gertrude, and Dolores. I am currently working on expanding this collection.
Nature’s Lookalikes
In Nature’s Lookalikes, I explore the visual harmony between land-dwelling animals and their winged counterparts moths and butterflies paired for their shared patterns, colors, and quiet elegance. This series presents unexpected yet natural duos: a zebra and a swallowtail butterfly, a giraffe and a garden tiger moth, a luna moth beside a green frog, an American kestrel with a velvet skipper butterfly, and a leopard mirrored by the Indian fritillary.
But beyond their visual connections, these pairings reveal something deeper: a shared vulnerability. some of these species are facing, or may soon face, threats from habitat loss, climate change, and environmental disruption. Through this work, viewers are invited to reflect on the beauty of biodiversity—and the urgency of its preservation.

Cultural Portraits
Drawing cultural portraits with graphite in a realistic style allows us to honor and preserve the unique features, traditions, and stories of diverse communities around the world. Through careful attention to detail, texture, and expression, graphite realism captures the depth of emotion and identity in each subject, creating a powerful visual narrative that transcends language. Each portrait becomes more than just a likeness—it’s a tribute to heritage, individuality, and the shared human experience.
Crowned in Light
Crowned in Light celebrates the beauty and power of natural hair. Part of a series featuring curls, coils, afros, and bantu knots, this work honors texture as crown a symbol of identity, resilience, and cultural pride.
